would like to invite you to the online debate

"Growing green out of pandemic debt"

29th January 2021, 16:30

The debate will be conducted in Polish and German.

To counter the negative economic fall-out ot the COVID-19 pandemic, the European Union created the European Recovery fund. The challenge for the European economies will be to spend this money in a way that opens new opportunities for stable and sustainible growth and technological innovation while respecting the targets set by the European climate goals. Can Europe become more resilient thanks to green growth? What is the direction of investmens under the Green New Deal or the European Recovery Fund? What strategies should be applied to deliver a real economic and environmental impetus to modernization? Or will we end up with massively increased debt for the years to come with no chance of growth at all?

The following experts will share their opinions on the topic with us:

  • Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński – Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Climate and Environment;
  • Jakob von Weizsäcker – Chief Economist at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Germany.
